Multiple desktop.ini files accessed at once....
I have recently figured out that my ex is accessing my aim logs on my pc. I can see this because hes connecting to my pc by mapping a drive and in computer management, I see his session, and the files he's opening in shares. Every once in a while, I see that desktop.ini ( like 15 instances since its in a ton of folders) gets opened at once for a brief period. Can anyone tell me why this would be? He's a pc support person. Is there a snooping software that uses the desktop.ini files?? I can't figure out what he's doing.

RE: Multiple desktop.ini files accessed at once....
Desktop.ini file is harmless and is merely used for customizing the folder it resides in. And, most probably it can't be used to hack a machine.

Shared folders and drives have different icons that normal ones. Do you see anything as such in one of your drive letters or on the folder your AIM logs are present in?

Try disabling sharing your hard drives and folders containing your sensitive data.

Which version of Windows are you running?
