Linux vs Windows 7
Windows 7

* Better at synthetic benchmarks.
* Faster transfer of large files.
* Final version likely to improve.
* Suspend/resume works!
* Desktop search is well implemented and can go online.
* Media libraries can be pinned to the start menu and task bar.
* Jump lists can genuinely help improve efficiency.
* Starter: No Aero and no 64-bit.
* Home Basic: Developed for emerging markets.
* Home Premium: Standard edition including Aero and touch.
* Professional: Adds remote desktop and encrypted filesystem.
* Enterprise: Unix application support and volume licensing.
* Ultimate: As with enterprise, but for individual users.

Linux

* Faster booting.
* Less memory usage.
* Smaller install size.
* Broader hardware compatibility.
* Nepomuk blurs the border between local and online.
* Gnome Do replaces the task bar entirely.
* Google's Desktop widgets now on Gnome and KDE.
* Starter: No Linux is this restrictive.
* Home Basic: Crunchbang or Ubuntu.
* Home Premium: For eye candy, try Mint or Kubuntu.
* Professional: Fedora offers encryption as an installation option.
* Enterprise: OpenSUSE should work well with Windows.
* Ultimate: No matter which Linux you choose, there's no restrictions.

RE: Linux vs Windows 7
Thank you for the post. I am using Linux for my entire office servers. I am running a web server, mysql server, postgres, postfix and samba servers from Linux. I use Windows for my personnel use. Configuration is little bit difficult in Linux. But it will run smoothly afterward. You don’t have to worry about viruses. You can fully control Linux PC from a Telnet terminal.

RE: Linux vs Windows 7
For your operating system, depending on your computing needs. Windows can not do some things you can do, Linux for Linux can not do something Windows can do. They can do most of the people who need their computers to do.

Lightbulb RE: Linux vs Windows 7
You have discussed pros and cons of using Linux and Windows 7 as operating system.

As far as 'm concerned Linux is history! I have moved into Windows 7. It works smoothly, fast and extremely user-friendly when compared to Linux.
I strongly suggest Windows 7 as a superb operating system anyone who is not very skilled as an It professional. The truth is you need not to be a professional in IT to reap the benefits of Windows 7.

RE: Linux vs Windows 7
Linux has made inroads in recent PC sales because it works so well on netbooks light with the limited RAM and processing power.This article is not designed to ignite new wars that are better or worse - is to understand the market and understand the competition. RE: Linux vs Windows 7
I mean windows. Just because more people use Windows, so if you have a question about this, more people will use for you, and most of the programs carried out, are made for windows, since most users are on Windows or Mac.
