RE: Linux running Slow
A couple of days back, I tested Fedora 12 and it was very slow. It took way more time than Ubuntu or Kubuntu, I don't know if others have noticed something similar. The likelihood of your fedora distribution getting infected by virus is very very slim. Upgrade on memory. Uninstall any unnecessary package you have installed on Linux and run Janitor as mentioned here http://www.howtoforge.com/clean-up-your-...buntu-9.04

Hope this is helpful.

RE: Linux running Slow
I Think You have to Restore Your System. There is a Problem in a Some System Files. There is not a Problem Of any Virus. Virus can not effect a Linux O.S.

RE: Linux running Slow
The biggest reason why Windows seems to load faster? because all the services have really started before you get to the login screen!, It's a neat little thing that Microsoft can not make it appear that Windows starts up so fast, when in reality, even when you're logged in, Windows still busy Load drivers and services start in the background. Some of the tricks of the Linux startup script, you can do a similar thing with Linux and get up to 30-50% faster start-up.

RE: Linux running Slow
Consider joining the Linux or buy a Linux net book with a Windows net books. Under normal circumstances, Linux net books do run faster because they take up less resources designed to make your Internet faster.

RE: Linux running Slow
All casework absolutely started afore extensive the login screen!, is a accurate little affair that Microsoft can not accept that Windows starts up so fast, if in reality, even if you are affiliated to Windows drivers loading consistently active and alpha casework in the background.
