Installing Windows fonts (Microsoft True Type) on Linux
Installing all the fancy fonts Windows OS provides is easy on Linux (Debian, Ubuntu and the derivatives). The fonts are normally called Microsoft True type fonts and you can install them using repositories with apt-get command.

On Debian: apt-get install msttcorefonts

On Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts

Once installed, close your open office or other programs and open again. Now you can enjoy Arial, Times New Roman, Tahoma and your other favorite fonts right inside your linux box.
