Let me start with some quick tips.

Enable "No to All" option

When copying or moving files or folders, your Windows XP gives you only four options Yes, Yes to All, No, and Cancel.

There is yes to all button as you can see but there is no "no to all" option which would be very handy. Keep the [shift] key pressed when clicking "No" in any such file copy or move dialog box. This will make sure your decision is held for all being being copied or moved.

Windows Xp Professional file encryption

A feature of Windows XP Professional, that is not available in the Home Edition, is the ability to encrypt files. This encryption prevents others from opening the files in the folder you encrypt. To encrypt one or more a folders, follow these easy steps.

Click Start, then My Documents. Now locate the folder you wish to encrypt and right click on it and choose Properties.

On the General tab, click on Advanced. Put a tick mark in the box for Encrypt Contents to Secure Data. Click okay two times and the confirmation dialog box will appear allowing you to select the folder, the folder and all files, and/or the subfolders within it.

Now you'll be able to place files in this folder (or folders) and since they're encrypted, others will not be able to access them.

Please note encryption is only supported on NTFS partitions and it is advisable to go with NTFS While installing Windows XP to make use of its functionality.
Thanks For sharing best Tips. Your Tips is really useful for me. Here some more. I have wrote an articles of how to stop some Windows XP Services to speed up the PC, since there are a lot question like this in the past. It's a long article. Here's a great tip to speed up your browsing of Windows XP machines. Its actually a fix to a bug installed as default in Windows 2000 that scans shared files for Scheduled Tasks.
Here is another great tip on how to switch programs using hotkeys.

If you routinely use a specific set of programs, you can set up hotkeys that will launch or directly switch among them instead of cycling with Alt-Tab.

Find a desktop or Start menu shortcut that launches a program and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab, click in the Shortcut key box, and press the key combination you want to use. Be sure to choose key combinations that are unique and not in use by other programs; for example, use Alt-Shift-1, Alt-Shift-2.

With this, you'll easily be able to open programs by just pressing hotkeys. See a jump in your efficiency instantly with this.
