One of my friend has a Wi-Fi connection from Verizon, but he is not much into computers and related stuff. He is now having problems with the security. Can you guys help me by suggesting some ways to secure the wi-fi access. I would appreciate any help help in this matter. Thanking you in advance.
Hi,
Your friend can configure his wireless connection to use a WEP encryption. If his card supports WPA encryption he would rather use it.
He can also configure his router to use address mac filtering.
Change the default SSID and the router's default password.
Though all these measures are still weak as security options. But he can limit dangers a bit if he does what i suggest.
I hope it would help a bit.
