OS = Win 7
Something's been eating away, at me, for a few days, now.
It was about 11:30 pm. I was tired and my eyes were getting sore. So, I was about to power down and to go to bed, when, suddenly a message box quickly rose above my clock, in the bottom right corner of my screen.
I did not pay much attention to the box except to give it a brief glance.
The message, in the box, was wordy, looked official, and appeared to contain links to Microsoft, but I can't say, for certain, because, as I said, I wasn't paying too much attention.
At the top of the box, though, there was something about the internet and, beside it, there was a smaller box which was already checked.
At the bottom, was an "OK" button. Yes. Just an "OK" button and, admitedly, that struck me as being odd. Nevertheless, I did not head the warning.
So, without giving it much thought, I unchecked the smaller upper box and clicked the OK button.
The box went away.
Ever since, though, I've felt like I gave some one permission to spy on me.
I really feel stupid, about this, and wondered if there was a way to check for problems and undo anything bad that I might have done.
Any suggestions?
